Riding the Wave (via Swerve)

Craig wrote a great series of blog posts this week on what he's learned about riding waves of blessing in ministry. The advice comes from one of the most successful pastors in America in the last 50 years, so you know his perspective in this area is spot-on.

Here's a list of each post in order from first to last:
Craig Groeschel is the pastor of LifeChurch.tv in Edmond, OK. He blogs about leadership at http://swerve.lifechurch.tv.

Making Business Travel Manageable

I've been traveling more lately with my new job at LifeChurch.tv. Getting used to the air time, the travel whip, and the constant eating out is slow for me. Penelope has some good thoughts on straightening the business travel curve.

If you travel regularly, how do you manage it? Seriously, I'm curious.

Another Reason LifeChurch.tv is Amazing

My last day in OKC this week brought a nice surprise. I was leaving the Central offices for lunch with @km, @jt, and @ddemoss when we happened upon a petting zoo in the parking lot .

It turns out that the daycare that takes care of the staff kids called for a petting zoo to come for the kids. That's just amazing!

(Thankfully, that camel in the picture was okay with me on its back. No spitting took place.)

Things I'm Looking Forward to While in OKC

I'll be spending Monday through Thursday in Oklahoma City this week.
My core purpose for this trip is to attend Inside Out, the staff
orientation for LCTV newbies. However, while I'm here, I have a
handful of goals.

# Hang out with the Digerati, or at least the OKC crew. Most of my
interaction with these guys is via Skype video, so I cherish the few
in-person times I get with them. They're just great people.

# Eat at Steve's Ribs. I've been hearing about the awesomeness of
Steve's Ribs since May when I first came to OKC when I interviewed for
the wrong job. (I'll tell more about THAT some other time.)

# Meet Craig Groeschel. Craig is one of the most successful church
leaders in the world. I just want to shake his hand and hopefully I'll
pick up some awesomeness by osmosis. Also, I made a promise to my bro-
in-law that I need to keep, but that's a secret.

# Not fail my 90-day review. This is sort of already decided, since
the review is Wednesday, but maybe I can score some last minute points
before the meeting. Maybe.

# Make some really awesome progress on a handful of projects that need
an in-person touch. There are some things you can only accomplish
after a firm handshake.

Do you set goals for trips?
